Musculoskeletal System

Stakes are high on this Chapter. So read it in and out.
Since this a large chapter break it in to small relevant segments.
How I did it?-I
went joint by joint. For example, first i chose shoulder and for that joint i did Anat, Biomech and conditions and management. While studying for the first time, i noted down the  page numbers containing info on Shoulder joint, which made my review easier. And i had to remember one less item! During the second review,i noted down key points.third time i concentrated on the frequently encountered conditions in our field.Below is a sample list. Please note that this is not an all inclusive list.
shoulder:PA,Tendinitis,Rotator cuff lesions,Scapulohumeral rhythm,mid shaft fractures
Elbow:Tendinitis
wrist and hand: CTS,RA,Deformities and tendon ruptures
Hip: Trochanteric fractures,dislocation/subluxaion,bursitis,slipped fem epiphysis and the variant
Knee:OA,patellar malalignment,bursitis,jumpers knee,valgus, varus,orthotic management
Ankle and foot: deformities(valgus varus, planus etc.,)
Spine: Deformities,Facet joint dysfunction,mechanical back pain,disc lesions
Pelvis and SI:dysfunctions
Gait is a separate chapter.Combine blue book and red book to study. If  not Red would do.No need of going into details-just know the muscle activation pattern and the gait deviations
I did amputation and  Prosthetic gait deviations right after this. Please get up and walk around when you do gait (normal and prosthetic). It aids in storing  and retrieving the info-remember : our brain learns by doing things!
Concavo - convex rule, grades of mobilization,End feel ,closed pack and loose pack positions-These you should know by heart.
When learning the mobilization of specific joints pls do not memorize the moves.Try to get it by applying the Concavo-Convex rule.
