If You have enough Credits: Apply to the state board for license http://www.fsbpt.org/LicensingAuthorities/index.asp this will give you info on the states you are interested.
Once your application is approved, you'll have to pass NPTE with in the validity period of your application.
To appear on NPTE,once you are prepared,apply for AIN (Alternate Identification Number) with FSBPT https://pt.fsbpt.net/ scroll down to AIN on the main page.
(You have to give exam with in 60 Days of obtaining AIN).Now, pls remember if you are not in USA,you need to get VISA before applying for AIN.
The AIN letter will give instruction on how to register for NPTE with a Prometric center.
Register,test and if all is well you are a RPT!
If you have Credit Deficits:
a) switch to some other state if that is practical(cred evalv again) or
b) Fulfill the Deficit requirements.either through PLAN from FCCPT http://www.fccpt.org/ or CLEP http://www.collegeboard.com/ and or community colleges.
Then do re eval and apply to state board,get VISA,AIN,Test and become RPT.
This is just a birds eye view of what is to be expected.
